Testimonials
“It took me 19 years after leaving the Army to find the Eagle Group—but once I did, it felt like coming home. I didn’t realize how much I missed the people in the military until I found this community. Besides the amazing camaraderie, Eagle Group has helped me recognize and apply the strengths I gained in the service and stay confident in my next steps—whether I’m job hunting or helping someone else in the group. The honest conversations, support, and sense of purpose have made a lasting impact. I keep coming back because it’s not just about networking—it’s about belonging, growing, and giving back. I’m proud to be part of this group.”
“I served in the Air National Guard for 25 years, with three boat deployments and tours in Iraq and the UAE, and participated in missions across Europe and during natural disasters like floods. My journey included the RNC convention and pursuing higher education, earning an AA degree from Bethel and an MBA from the University of Minnesota.
I was introduced to Eagle Group of MN Veterans in 2018. From day one, Eagle Group has been a beacon of support, offering invaluable networking opportunities. However, it’s the mentorship that has profoundly impacted me. They taught me how to interview, craft resumes, and navigate the job search, which has helped me tremendously.
Their guidance resonated deeply, speaking the language of my background and helping me transition professionally from the National Guard to civilian life. Thanks to their support, I’m starting a job next week in logistics for an international organization—a role I’m incredibly excited about. Eagle Group not only provided me with this opportunity but also offered crucial referrals and references.
As an introvert, I found the job search challenging. Yet, being around like-minded individuals with similar service backgrounds made the process seamless and enjoyable. The connections I made and the experiences I gained have been invaluable. I plan to give back to the organization by mentoring others, just as I was mentored.
Eagle Group of MN Veterans has been a cornerstone in my journey, and I am profoundly grateful for their unwavering support.”
“After serving in the U.S. Air Force from ’73 to ’79 and spending my civilian career supporting the military through companies like Honeywell and General Dynamics, I never expected to find myself out of work in December 2023. The job loss was tough—not just financially but mentally. That’s when I found Eagle Group.
Eagle Group didn’t hand me a job, but what they did give me was far more powerful. They helped me keep my focus and reminded me how critical mindset is in times of transition. Just being around like-minded people—veterans who get it—re-energized me. I had mentors, meaningful conversations, and a community that didn’t just understand sacrifice—they honored it.
Now that I’m back to work, I make it a point to give back. I share openings with Eagle Group, and I’ve seen great candidates come through.
My message to transitioning vets is this: keep your sense of humor, keep an eye on your buddies—YourSix—and know you’ve got people in your corner. Eagle Group is proof that support doesn’t stop when the uniform comes off.”
“When I started planning my transition out of the military, I expected it to take two years. Thanks to Eagle Group, it only took four months.
After 22 years of service, I was overwhelmed trying to figure out what came next. Eagle Group gave me the tools and direction I needed—resume help, mock interviews, and, most importantly, a strong network. That’s how I found the job I have today.
What makes Eagle Group special is the community. It feels like the camaraderie I had in the military. Now, I volunteer as a transition advocate to help others feel more at ease—because I remember how uncertain those early steps can feel.
If you’re transitioning out of the military, Eagle Group is a place where you’re supported, understood, and equipped to succeed. It’s made a lasting impact on me, and I’m proud to help carry that forward.”
